Update – Thompson RCMP ask for assistance in finding good Samaritan

UPDATE: the good Samaritan has been identified.

The RCMP have located the individual being sought in relation to a victim being dropped off at Thompson General Hospital on April 25, 2024. The individual was identified as a direct result of tips from the public, and the RCMP thanks the public and the media for their assistance. The case details are below:

On April 25,  shortly after 4:00 a.m., an unknown person dropped off a severely injured male at the Thompson General Hospital in Thompson. It is believed the victim was injured in an assault.

RCMP are looking to speak to the person who dropped off the injured male and are asking him to reach out to Thompson RCMP. It is not believed that this individual was involved in the assault, but that he came across the victim and brought him for treatment. He was driving a white GMC pickup truck with a box cover on it, looks to have a thin build, and was wearing a grey baseball hat with a black peak and a black jacket.

The victim remains in serious condition in hospital.
